BRE BAJA Z At The BAJA 1000 circa 1973

Photo Session With Peter Brock and The BRE BAJA Z

As Of 8 March 2008

Above: We (my son Carl and I) had to use Dr. Lewis's 4WD to get the Z and trailer out to the hard sand on the beach. 30 to 40 mph winds blowing all day had caused soft sand drifts across the beach access roads. Cars were getting stuck there.

Above: This was taken at about 2:30PM. The sand on the tire treads makes them standout. Wind was still blowing at about 15 to 20 mph, so footprints in the sand were quickly covered.

Above: 35 Years Later- Mr. Brock with the BRE BAJA Z Again.

Above: This was taken at about 5:30PM. Sun lower in the sky, but the light is better for capturing details.

Above: We would have never been ready without the help from Will, Rich and Bill. Not to mention the fact that days like this are made even better when shared with friends. Not pictured is my best friend, Carl Jr. who hid behind the camera.

Above: Low speed pass for action photo. Yes I was smiling the whole time, but I sware that the Baja Z was too. Nothing like warm sand between the tire treads to make the Z feel young again.

Above: Yes, my face is very red. All afternoon at the beach, in the sun, with the wind blowing like crazy. Yes, I should have taken off my jacket, and tucked in my shirt...da...I guess I was just carried away with the monent.
