Z-Car List Instructions

To Subscribe:

Send an e-mail message to:

Majordomo@taex001.tamu.edu

In the body of the message (leave the subject line blank) put:

"subscribe z-car"

without the (") quotes, a space and your e-mail address.

For example:

subscribe z-car jhill@atlantic.net

and/or


Another option is to subscribe to the "digest" form of the list - instead of 60
individual posts per day - they are pooled up and sent within a single message
aprox. 20 at a time, this cuts down a lot on the traffic...

To Unsubscribe:

(When you go out of town etc...)

Send an e-mail message to:

Majordomo@taex001.tamu.edu

In the body of the message (leave the subject line blank) put:

unsubscribe z-car (your email address)
unsubscribe z-car-digest (your email address)

You can turn it on and off that easy. It usually takes a day to respond...so
give yourself some lead time...

When you subscribe yourself to the Z Car List - the Majordomo Software should return the following Message and Information:

z-car and z-car-digest
----------------------

The daily traffic on z-car can get overwhelming, up to 65 messages a day. If this is too much for you, please consider using the subject keys (see below) to have your mail reader filter messages or use the digest form of the list. The "z-car-digest" allows you to get all the z-car postings in a daily digest form. Currently the digest is automatically mailed when aprox 20 to 25 messages have been received....

You can subscribe to either (or both) z-car and z-car-digest via
an e-mail message to the Majordomo List Server software.

How to post a message
To post a message, email it to z-car@taex001.tamu.edu


Please follow these guidelines when posting.


Subject Keys:

To help filter unwanted messages we use subject keys. This allows people to discard mail pertaining to models they are not interested in. Further, most mail readers can be setup to automatically throw away messages with specified keys while retaining all others. 


Everyone posting to the list must use subject keys. 
Please begin your subject line with one of the following 
(include the '<' & '>'): 


   <ALL> == a subject of interest to every one subscribed to the list

   <L6>  == 240, 260, 280 Z's, and 280zx

   <240> == 240 and 260 z's

   <280> == 280z's

   <280zx> == 280zx

   <300zx> == early 300ZX's

   <90+>   == 90+ 300zx

   <350Z>   == 350Z

   <FS>    == any item or car for sale

   <FS>WTB    == any item Wanted To Buy

   <IZCC>  == club related information

   <ADMN>  == list administration information

   (usually reserved for the moderator)

eg:
Subject: <240> transmission problem with my 240z

List Etiquette

PLEASE DO NOT:
- DO NOT Quote whole previous messages in your reply.
- DO NOT Leave the message you're replying to attached
to the bottom of your message.
- DO NOT quote signatures.
- DO NOT Use huge signatures. Limit is 10 lines.
- DO NOT Quote the mail headers of the message you're
replying to.
- DO NOT flame.
- DO NOT curse (I hate having to <BEEP> things out).
- DO NOT send (un)subscription requests to z-car, send
them to: majordomo@taex001.tamu.edu
PLEASE DO: - Include meaningful subject lines and use the subject
keys.
- Use the <ENTER> key every 70 characters or so.

- Ignore flames that may leak through.

INTERNET Z CAR CLUB (IZCC)

The Internet Z Car Club is free and open to everyone. We sponsor two
main sources of information related to the DATSUN / NISSAN Z Car.
 1. The Z Car List:   This is our on-line, e-mail based discussion 
    group. The information here is dynamic as it flows among subscribers.

 2. The Z Car Home Page:  This is our Web Site. Here you will find
    information about the entire line of Z Car's, the IZCC Itself, 
    other Local Z Car Clubs, Z Car Registers and our Vendor Lists.
    The information presented here is more static in nature.

Additional benefits of membership include large discounts from 
our Vendors and Z Car Speciality Shops, links to Local Clubs 
around the world, regional events and an entire Club that is there
when you need us. 7 days a week, 24 hours per day.

There is no fee to join the IZCC, just visit the Z Car Home Page 
and fill out the on-line 'Membership Sign-up Form' found on 
our Z Car Home Page.
