The Purpose of this page is to give the reader information related to the RB Series of Nissan In-line, 6 cylinder "performance" engines
Engine Designation: RB = Race Build (my guess;-) x0 = 2 Liter, 2.5 Liter, 2.6 Liter or 3.0 Liter engine D = Duel Overhead Cam E = ECCS (Electronic Concentrated Control System *1) T = Turbo TT = Twin Turbo Note *1: This is Nissan's electronic fuel injection system, which consists of the main computer (the Electronic Control Unit or ECU), and all sensors and actuators connected to the ECU. This includes items such as injectors, airflow meter, temperature sensors, etc.

The first production engine, based on the Racing engine was the Nissan S20 engine it was used in the 1969 Fairlady Z 432 & Skyline GT-R. It sported a duel overhead cam, alum. cross flow head with hemispherical combustion chambers and 4 valves per cylinder.
So it would seem that the Racing Engine of 1965/66, lead to the Production engine (S20), which in turn lead to the RB Series of Performance/Production Engines.
